Anthropic Announces Major Global Expansion Amid Surging International Demand

Anthropic, the AI company valued at $183 billion, is embarking on a dramatic global workforce expansion. The firm plans to triple its international headcount and quintuple customer support capabilities by 2025, responding to explosive growth that saw business customers surge from under 1,000 to over 300,000 in just two years.

The expansion comes as 80% of Anthropic's user base now resides outside the United States. Markets like South Korea, Australia, and Singapore show particularly strong adoption rates per capita. "We've achieved significant international business without substantial local presence—until now," said Chief Commercial Officer Paul Smith, signaling a strategic shift toward localized operations.

Tokyo will host Anthropic's first Asian office, while European expansion centers on Dublin and London with over 100 new positions. A Zurich research facility is also planned. The company is actively recruiting country managers across Asia-Pacific and European markets, bringing in experienced tech executive Chris Ciauri to lead international operations.
